Position Title: Building Manager
 
Congregation: Richfield Lutheran Church, Minneapolis
 
Position Summary: The Building Manager oversees the maintenance and cleanliness of the building facilities, ensuring the facility is secure, functional, and compliant with regulations.The Building Manager is responsible for ensuring that the property is well-maintained, safe, compliant with regulations, and operationally efficient. This requires technical knowledge, managerial skills, and interpersonal abilities to ensure smooth functioning and value preservation of the property. 
 
Core Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee day-to-day building operations and maintenance to ensure smooth functioning of
    the facility.
  • Have a good operating knowledge of church heating and cooling systems and work with
    HVAC contractors.
  • Participate in building projects, gathering bids and collaborating with contractors to
    ensure timely and safe completion.
  • Oversee vendors which are responsible for cleaning, landscaping, and waste management.
  • Perform quarterly filter changes in all areas (childcare, fellowship hall, sanctuary, chapel
    and church offices).
  • Maintain a checklist for preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of outside contractors performing contractual work.

Position Title:  Sunday Audio Visual Technician       
 
Congregation: Richfield Lutheran Church, Minneapolis
 
Position Summary: The Audio-Visual Technician is an important part of supporting in person and online worship ministries and will support recording of worship services for live streaming in conjunction with existing volunteers. Currently, Sunday morning and holiday services are supported by Audio Visual volunteers.  In planning for upgrades, Richfield Lutheran needs an Audio-Visual technician to record and/or livestream worship, run presentation software (currently PowerPoint) and design graphics as needed. Approx. 3.5 hours per week, including Sunday mornings 9:00-10:30, plus additional remote support time as needed. The AV Technician is permitted 6 Sundays off per year.  The opportunity exists for hours at other times for special events.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Set-up, operate and troubleshoot audio and visiual equipment as needed
  • Set-up microphones and perform sound checks prior to worship and other services
  • Produce the best possible atmosphere for worship, adjusting sound levels as needed during the service
  • Create and share links to recorded or live streamed worship services
  • Test and resolve equipment issues and make recommendations for improvement
  • Provide a distraction free audio and visual experience for in person and online worshippers
  • Determine filming sequences and camera movements
  • Train volunteers
  • Prepare weekly powerpoint presentations
  • Other duties as assigned
Reqiured Qualifications:
  • Able to work in a team setting and take direction
  • Experience recording or creating live and streamed product
  • Experience with using and troubleshooting PowerPoint or other slide presentations
  • Experience with sound equipment (setting sound levels, wired and wireless microphones, etc.)
Pay rate: $20.00/hour
